For everyone who has said, “I will NEVER create a Digital Course”
This course (7 videos plus checklists, worksheets, handouts, and transcripts) is designed for people (LIKE ME) who love to learn and maybe BUY lots of information products online, but there is NO WAY IN THE WORLD I am ever going to create a “course.”
Well, Cindy Bidar, my long-time friend and coach, has convinced me to change my thinking.
She runs a coaching and training business for online entrepreneurs and business owners–big and small–real people.
Like y’all. Like me.
She is a prolific course creator and people buy her products month-after-month like they eat potato chips. They are that good and that irresistible!
Better than that, they are SHORT if not tiny. She breaks them into video modules of maybe 10 minutes each. AND she even provides transcripts so you do not have to take notes while you are driving (did I say that ?!?!) 👀
Her worksheets and .pdfs and checklists are included ONLY if they are relevant and helpful and NEVER full of fluff. ANYWAY she has finally created a course to show YOU how to … create a course. Lots of courses. Short ones, easy to create, easy to sell.
For real people. Like y’all.
CUTTING TO THE CHASE: https://anitahampl.com/cindy-tiny-empire
It’s a $97 course. Worth tons more than that. She takes you methodically, step-by-step through the reasons (dare I say mindset) of thinking up what to put into a “tiny” course. She is huge on “one problem, one solution” and calls you back to that a few times as she encourages brainstorming ideas. An example that cracked me up was, say you want to teach about “Healthy Eating.” That’s a big, trillion-dollar field, right? Well, that’s an awfully huge category. So why not niche down to:
- for weight loss
- for busy parents
- for athletes
- for new moms
- for grocery budgeting
You could teach about coupons, or freezer meals, or meal planning …any one of those would be ONE COURSE.
So say you chose couponing. Then if your audience liked it (by voting with their $$$), the next course you create could be another related TINY topic, maybe freezer meals to save money.
But you do NOT want to cover all available ideas in one course! People have short attention spans and cannot handle it! They would start reading, get distracted, then decide that your courses were a waste of their money.
One problem, one solution.
In other words, sure, you could save money on groceries by taking up deer hunting … but that’s WAY too much for one small course on saving on food bills. LOL
HERE IS HOW I RECOMMEND YOU ENJOY AND PROFIT FROM “Tiny Course Empire”: basically, do a “run through” to get your imagination going. Then you can return later to actually start creating your own tiny course.
- Buy it (obviously).
- Flip through each module and download and save all of the “handouts” (transcripts, checklists, etc.) into a specific folder for Tiny Course Empire. (I would PRINT the worksheets but not necessary at this step.)
- Sit in front of your laptop/desktop with some mindless activity to work on–kind of like watching a TV show–knitting, sorting coupons, doing your nails.
- Listen and watch each module. They are short. You can pause and rewind if necessary, but remember you already have the transcript.
- Enjoy Cindy’s pleasant, reassuring voice as she explains AND INSPIRES you regarding the very real possibilities that exist. She will help you brainstorm ideas for courses and tell you where to find what YOUR audience/customers really want to know. (Hint: what kinds of questions do you answer over and over for people?)
- Walk away and let your mind process all of this. I’ll bet that you wake up tomorrow brimming with ideas AND/OR you will look at other people’s courses and trainings you have already purchased or coveted and think “Shoot, I could make one of those!”
Anyway, do check it out! When you purchase Tiny Course Empire using my link (any on this page) let me know (email@example.com) and we can schedule a 60-minute Zoom call to brainstorm your ideas for some tiny courses, I can look at your ideas, and we can even look at similar people in your field and their offerings. You will probably say, “Darn, I can do it better than THEY can!” ——————–
